Newsflash: Touchdown Bogotá

Devcon VI incoming

We just arrived in Bogotá.

Several members of our team have headed out to the Colombian capital for the sixth edition of Devcon, one of the world’s biggest and best-loved Ethereum conferences.

While we’re here, we’ll be connecting with the community, introducing token.com to other prominent teams and projects in the space, and attending talks (and side parties!) to get an in-person feel of how the Ethereum Ecosystem looks in late 2022.

From what we’ve seen so far, there are plenty of good reasons to be excited for the four-day event even as the crypto token market extends its months-long slump. The energy on the ground is palpable, and we’re really looking forward to receiving the community’s feedback on the new product.

Industry insights

In fact, we were at Circle’s Converge22 conference in San Francisco last month, and we got a similar impression. We met with various industry leaders at the event, and we got the sense that many venture capital firms are excited about the future and ready to invest despite this year’s precarious market conditions. Many people feel that we’re on the cusp of a usability revolution, similar to how the Internet levelled when broadband replaced dial-up. Of the various token evangelists we spoke to, no one had any doubt that tokenization will eventually reach 1 billion people.

Of course, all of this is good news for us, particularly as token.com is geared towards making tokens accessible. The reception we’ve had is that the new product looks primed to onboard new token adopters because it makes investing in tokens simple, and while there are definitely some tweaks and adjustments to be made, it feels like we’re on the right track with the direction the space is headed.

Our latest Collection

As Devcon is always such an important date in the Ethereum calendar and we know that many of the key projects in the ecosystem are attending, we were inspired to curate a dedicated Collection of tokens ahead of the event.

Welcome to Devcon Bogotá goes live in the app today, shining a light on some of the most essential Ethereum projects. We’ve decided to focus on those that will be presenting at Devcon VI, so it features the likes of Aave, Ethereum Name Service, Optimism, and Uniswap.

We’ll have plenty of insights to share from the event over the coming days, so make sure to keep an eye on our newly-revamped Twitter account and this blog for all of the key updates. In the meantime, you can check out the Welcome to Devcon Bogotá Collection in-app to get up to speed.

Hablamos pronto, amigos.
